Join us as BCDC walks at the Race for the Cure-

On Sunday, September 28, 2008, the staff of Bedford Child Development Center will walk as a team in the Susan B. Komen's Race for the Cure.  If you are interested in joining our team, please sign up at the Race for the Cure's website and click on join a team (then click on Bedford Child Development Center).  If you are unable to walk with us, but would like to donate to the Susan B. Komen's Race for the Cure, you may go to the website and find Bedford Child Development Center and place your donation there.  We are committed to raise at least $500.00 to help women in our local area who have experienced this or are currently experiencing this first hand.  Let's find a cure!!!! 

Our Philosophy

Bedford Child Development Center is a developmentally based child care center.  We believe that children learn best through their experiences.  We are a play based center and we believe that children's play is a primary vehicle for their growth and development.  Play enables children to progress along a developmental sequence of growth.  Therefore, a child-initiated, child-directed, teacher supported curriculum is an essential component of our program.

Mission Statement 

With the support of families and the community, BCDC will provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old.  We are dedicated to provide a safe, clean stimulating environment to all of our children. 

Bedford Child Development Center is a state licensed facility able to care up to 45 children.  Our center was designed for optimal safety.  The front and back doors are locked at all times.  Parents and visitors to the center must ring a bell in order to enter the facility. 

The staff at Bedford Child Development Center is made up of trained professionals in Early Childhood Education.  All staff members are certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR as well as First Aid.  Annual training is required for all staff members as well as staff has training in Blood Borne Pathogens.  All staff members of Bedford Child Development Center are required to submit to a background check performed by the State of Michigan.
